Razer Releases DeathStalker Ultimate Keyboard with Switchblade UI

Razer has given birth to what it proudly claims is "the world's smartest keyboard." Bold statements such as that one are always up for debate, but Razer's new DeathStalker Ultimate is certainly unique in the fact that it combines a high-performance gaming plank with the company's Switchblade User Interface (UI).

It boasts the same customizable LCD trackpad and LED keypad combo found on the Razer Blade laptop and Star Wars: The Old Republic gaming keyboard. There are 10 dynamic, adaptive tactile keys users can bind commands to, as well as macros, skills, spells, and other functions.

"With the Switchblade UI on the Razer DeathStalker Ultimate, we wanted to offer gamers an enriching and intuitive gaming experience built for total game control," said Robert Krakoff, president of Razer USA. "We continue to work closely with independent software vendors to integrate the API of their games on the Switchblade UI, so that you can see more of the game as you play. I’m excited that we are making such cutting-edge technology available to gamers everywhere, and look forward to bringing more game-specific apps."

Other features include anti-ghosting of up to 10 keys in game mode, chiclet style keycaps, tri-color backlit keys, Razer Synapse 2.0 support, dedicated macro keys, and a braided cable.

The DeathStalker Ultimate is available now for $250. If you can do without the fancy Switchblade UI features and dedicated macro keys, there's a vanilla version of the DeathStalker that sells for $80.
