Airtel now lets its prepaid users enjoy unlimited Internet usage via a new service, called Wi-Fi hangouts. The service allows users to access the company's public hotspots by activating 'Airtel W-Fi Zone' vouchers.
Bharti Airtel has introduced a new Wi-Fi hotspot service, called Wi-Fi hangouts. The service is available for Airtel prepaid customers in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Bangalore regions.
With the new hotspot service, Airtel subscribers can access the company's public hotspots by activating 'Airtel W-Fi Zone' vouchers available on the company website. “Now you can enjoy a broadband internet experience even outside your home. Whether at your favourite cafĂ©, restaurant or local hangout, Airtel Wi-Fi guarantees a secure and reliable connectivity on your laptop or handheld device,” says Airtel on its website.
For 30 minutes of unlimited usage on the Wi-Fi, users will be charged Rs. 20. For one hour and two hours of unlimited usage, users are charged Rs. 30 and Rs. 50 respectively. Wi-Fi hotspots are quite popular in metro cities as a lot of people are using such service at restaurants, coffee shops and even in airports. Airtel hasn't yet announced any fair usage policy for this service, which could be another highlight of the Wi-Fi hangouts. Airtel is offering Wi-Fi hangouts installation in various enterprises upon request.
